First Place Training has extended SEND provision for ASD learners.
First Place Training works to effectively include learners with complex learning and communication needs.
First Place Training caters for the most vulnerable learners, who will often have a combination of special educational needs, in the areas of Communication and Interaction, and Cognition and Learning. This will include many learners with complex communication difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The provision consists of a personalised and flexible programme of support, which can be updated regularly, and will vary from child to child according to their specific needs.
Pupils are fully integrated into the mainstream curriculum with tailored support. This can include accredited qualifications and an individual learning plan to support independence skills; travel training, social communication skills, voluntary work and coping strategies to mange anxiety. All of which is done in a small nurturing environment.
